We often times find that children also can prove to be the very best critics as well. They too will have no qualms about sharing their REAL opinions. This being the case, performing random hands-on consumer evaluations of products really tells you a lot. These are the opinions that let you know just how good a product actually is and if needed, how to improve upon it.
For the Frog Kiss Designs - Handcrafted Hooded Towels, we probably had the most enjoyable experience in hands-on evaluation we have ever experienced in the history of our organization. Whether we were at a mall, a park, a boutique shop, or of course the beach and swimming pools, the Frog Kiss Designs - Handcrafted Hooded Towels were a very solid hit. What I personally found most affecting, was the fact that the only persons who inquired about the price point were in a high end boutique in Beverly Hills, CA. Everywhere else, we heard questions of where can they find the towels, and/or could they purchase the samples we were using.
I Want My Duckey!
In a beach city in Calif; there was a little girl with the "Duckey" hooded towel that she would not even think of going out the door to the beach or pool without her "Duckey"! She would draw no quarter on here decision.
I'll never forget her comment to her parents during the evaluation, for that matter, neither will her parents. The little girl said, "If Duckey" doesn't go, I don't go." There was no way on earth she would budge an inch unless "Duckey" was part of the deal. That scenario was just one of many where kids were making it clear to their parents how special the Frog Kiss Designs - Handcrafted Hooded Towels were.
A Humorous Situation...
Our staff will agree without question with what we all feel was one the most humorous of the comments we heard from the children who took part in our hands-on evaluation. The scenario in which the comment was made, took place in Anaheim, CA at the pool in the Disneyland Resort Hotel. We had a little girl who was one of our evaluation participants, who everyone referred to as "Princess". Now that I think of it, I noticed that EVERYTHING she was wearing or were her belongings, had the word "Princess" on it somewhere!
From what we could see, she was well above average in her intelligence when it came to her verbal communication skills. When her parents gave her the Princess hooded towel from Frog Kiss Designs, she surprised us by showing no real sign of excitement. Despite the lack of emotion being evident, she was prompt to remove the ribbon, unfold the towel, and place the hooded towel on her head.
I now needed to try and get some feedback from the child as well as her parents, in reference to the princess towel but felt it would be unprofessional to address the little girl as "Princess", so I queried her Mom what her daughter's birth name was. She responded by telling me me it was Vanessa. At the time, I thought that was a great help, but little did I know that the Mom failed to warn me that her daughter doesn't like being addressed by that name.

Assuming everything was in order, I went over to Vanessa to ask her what she thought of the Princess hooded towel she was wearing. When I posed the question to her, she replied to my question in a very snippy manner with, "First, my name is NOT Vanessa, it's 'Princess' with a capital 'P', and as for the towel, I'm wearing it aren't I?."
Almost immediately after that unexpected response from the "Princess", a little boy shouted out to her, "You're no princess!" That didn't sit well with her and she immediately fired back with the response, "Who says I'm NOT a Princess?!! The little boy wasted no time and fired right back saying, "I did!", with a strong aggressive tone in his voice. The little boy's Mom spoke up immediately, telling him to quit making trouble and come sit by her. The little boy's argument with the "Princess" ended as quickly as it had started.

I returned to Vanessa's parents, feeling rather awkward under the circumstances, not knowing what to say. Both parents apologized for having provided no warning about, "...her, uhh, 'attitude'". They explained to me that, "...if she is wearing it, she has to love it; she is quite blunt in her opinions and picky as ever in here taste for things." The parents caused me to chuckle when the Father pointed out that "...our daughter has been that way since she was born...", then the parents began to debate with each other over who that bad personality trait came from.
NOTE: They were still debating when our staff as well as myself departed!
