Everyone always has a question about something and of course goes to an authoritative source in that particular subject who they know they can depend upon to get an answer. For many other people such as yourself though, independent lab testing could very well be an entirely new as well as confusing topic of discussion. The cold hard facts are that retailers, ranging from the corporate to the specialty shops are beginning to have concerns in regard to liability from potential health hazards associated with the materials used in a product. With each day that passes, more and more companies are adopting standards of "If your product isn't independent lab tested, we won't even look at it." While this may prove to be a concern to start-up and smaller businesses, there is a brighter side to the situation. As they say there are two sides to a coin, so it is with this situation. The expenditure for independent lab testing can be minimized by just using common business sense and do some shopping. Ask questions of other companies similar in size to your own which you may have been in contact with at the L A Baby Celebration or other events. Ask them how they managed to accomplish getting their products independent lab tested on a shoe-string budget. That independent lab testing provides you the comfort of the liability risk being dropped dramatically and can inevitably put your product line a few steps ahead of the competition.
